I’m using Discourse more and more for project management, and it occurred to me to create groups based on domains like this.
Use cases:
- Client support: when I take on an org, I can set up a category, keep all my notes for them there, and as more folks from said org joins, they automatically get access to the memory banks. This happens to me often, where I have a client for a decade and work with a chain of liaisons and step-ins.
- Multi-org projects: while being a “gig” worker, I often join teams and other people structures that could benefit from a central place to plan and execute a project. Sorting teams by firms help with weird access issues, but could prove useful over time as multiple projects come down the line.
- Hosted fora: Let groups self-sort by email domain, good for clubs and other email using creatures.
