Discover Gooseberry Park

Continuing the discussion from A silly picture:

Clover and I are actually working on indexing our kids book library, so this is on that list.

Goals:

  • book page
  • discover creators

This book is significant to me, as it is written in an easy, relaxed manner. They skip around with words just enough to make it fun, and yet is always leading to a point of interest.

Also, unabashedly dated: Oreos, Days of Our Lives, Alex Trebeck… specific enough to grin, but doesn’t detract from younglings that won’t know some of them.

I like it.

Also, I tried to emulate Rhys Darby for the voice of Murray, in homage to the character from Flight of the Conchords, and it worked (the characters match, I’ll not comment on my accent work…).

This is a great book, you should read it if you are feeling lonely and trapped and need to remember folks have got your back.
