Faceoff

I have made a decision to not participate in Facebook. I have run into several uncomfortable social situations, embarrassing moments and pithy celebrations. The good wasn’t good enough, and the bad was too ubiquitous.

I’m reading articles now about ways in which the social media site is engineered to be addictive and how various mental illnesses are exploited to benefit the company.

hi @kevin!

I deleted my account in 2011, after some arguments happened on there that seriously damaged my relationship with my extended family.

I am currently fighting my twitter… addiction for the lack of a better word. I can’t bring myself to delete my account. I now only check it on my phone occasionally, but I want to remove it entirely.

I think of Twitter as an over-specialized feed aggregater. If I had one, I would plug my blog into it, and forget it.
