Internet Archive links

I noticed @tim posted code-wrapped URLs to the archive in VHS Files from Archive.org !. I went to fix it, but when I put the URLs on lines by themselves, such as:

https://archive.org/details/StarWars_201807
https://archive.org/details/StarWarsReturnOfTheJedi
https://archive.org/details/StarWarsTheEmpireStrikesBack
https://archive.org/details/ThePrincessBride_201804

it generates:

Something in Discourse rendering isn’t making those links.

And if that weren’t confusing enough, I accidentially found that added a horizontal rule below the links activates markdown’s heading parser, which for some reason shows the links. I’ll demonstrate in the next post.

Full VHS Tape:Star Wars : 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive
Full VHS Tape:Star Wars:Return Of The Jedi : CBS/FOX Video : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive
Full VHS Tape:Star Wars:The Empire Strikes Back : CBS/FOX Video : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive
Full VHS Tape:The Princess Bride : MGM Home Entertainment : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive

So that’s weird.

Yes, it’s why I did it that way!

Yes, I thought so. Someone should do something about it!

Oh wait, that’s me…

Well, they were all taken down. :frowning:

The whole VHS archive is still there. The VHS Vault : Free Movies : Free Download, Borrow and Streaming : Internet Archive

Some of the more obvious offendors were taken down for copyright reasons but there are still some gems in the rough. Also some of the missing stuff has already appeared in the community video upload section; if you know where to look.
