Mirror org on ATC?

@tim, I’m thinking of making an organization on ATC to hold mirrored repos. I’m about to go through some WordPress audits, and I wanted to take this chance to mirror all the repos for various plugins and themes, but that’s so I have a copy of my own.

Quick aside: I’ve had many WordPress plugins disappear on me, including one caused by my report on creepy tracking in the code. Fortunately I had an earlier branch of the repo in that specific case, but it freaked me out. I think it makes sense to have a copy of the code I use, aside from a :star: or clone on Microsoft’s servers.

I won’t be using these repos, per se, or committing to them. I do like to read the docs from ATC’s copy rather than MS’s.

So thinking of making an org called something like Mirror. Then the URLs will be like https://allthe.codes/mirror/hugo.

Thoughts?

I’m proposing this, to get buy-in, I’m hoping it is an open org for folks on ATC to mirror repos that interest them. @tim, are you interested in keeping mirrors this way?

I’d never really thought of mirrors until you started making them on ATC. I like using the name mirror.

I’m not just mirroring repos I want to keep around, it’s also useful to use ATC as a proxy while troubleshooting, ex:

I’ll have reminders to clean up old repos this way.
