Sanguine

Continuing the discussion from July 16, 2019:

duckduckgo uses wordnik as its default dictionary! it showed me wordnik’s top two definitions for sanguine.

  • adjective Cheerfully confident; optimistic.
  • adjective At ease; accepting.

ok so is this a good word to describe lucycat? not the first definition, but “sort of” to the second one about being at ease; accepting. so overall, not really.

wait a second. the first definition, “cheerfully confident,” describes smolz. the second one, “at ease,” …sort of describes some aspects of lucy (being unperturbed by fireworks, for example). but the cats are incredibly different! so maybe the right thing to do is use this word to describe neither. or both.

Confident, optimistic, accepting? :face_with_raised_eyebrow: idk about that. I would use maybe the word “aloof” for lucycat haha
