Regressive Web Apps is a good read to catch up on how different announcements from Google measure up in regards to “progressive web apps”.
A major takeaway is that Google, via Chrome for Android and user actions, is encouraging developers to hide the URL of their sites from users, and calling it a best practice.
This is not a direction we want to go for an open web.
